Ko Kieft, who was part of the 2022 draft class and had an expiring rookie contract, re-signed with the Buccaneers on Monday. Kieft was placed on injured reserve following a season-ending leg injury in the team's win over the New York Jets in Week Three of the 2025 slate and in his absence, Payne Durham took on an elevated role. Kieft did not have a single reception when his 2025 campaign came to an abrupt halt, but he also made his presence felt on special teams as a rancorous tackler. Regarded as the "tone-setter" by teammates and coaches, Kieft will galvanize the offensive squad in 2026.

Kieft, originally a sixth-round draft pick, primarily serves as a blocking tight end for the Bucs with a tough disposition at the point of attack. He effectively fits run blocks and utilizes proper angles when in space. The blocking specialist helps spur the ground game when he is on the field and will help solidify the line of scrimmage this upcoming season.
