WASHINGTON -- At least 105 people were killed in the U.S. states of Florida and North Carolina by Hurricane Ian, U.S. media reported on Monday.

UNITED NATIONS -- A UN spokesman said that an explosive device on Tuesday killed three Bangladesh members of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic.

Their vehicle hit an explosive device overnight during a patrol, 5 km from the mission's temporary base in Ouhadm-Pende prefecture, said Stephane Dujarric, the chief spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. DHAKA -- At least three people were killed and 17 went missing after a boat carrying scores of people mostly Rohingya refugees capsized in the Bay of Bengal off the coast of Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar district, some 400 km southeast of the capital Dhaka, on Tuesday morning, an official said.

SOFIA -- One person died and two others are missing in an explosion at a fireworks factory on Tuesday in the Bulgarian town of Kazanlak, some 200 km east of the country's capital Sofia, officials said.
