CABARROGUIS, Quirino, April 5 (PIA)-The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) here has reported that a total of 21,000 packs of rice have been distributed to the families affected by the lockdown due to the increase of COVID-19 cases in the province.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Agaton Pagbilao said they worked during the holy week just to deliver the rice to the municipalities and they hoped to complete the deliveries within seven days depending on the availability of rice supply.
Pagbilao thanked the National Food Authority of Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino under the leadership of Manager Emerson Ravelas for the immediate release of rice for the province.
Pagbilao also reported that some 1,600 family food packs which were requested by the provincial government from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have already arrived at the PSWDO.
"We have already delivered a total of 3,455 family food packs from the provincial government to the municipalities: Aglipay - 250; Cabarroguis - 1,240; Diffun - 500; Maddela - 500; Nagtipunan - 340 (for Sangbay); Saguday - 625 with," Pagbilao said.
On the other hand, a total of 3,625 family food packs from the DSWD were also delivered: Aglipay - 500; Cabarroguis - 1,000; Diffun - 500; Maddela - 500; Nagtipunan - 500; Saguday - 625.
"As of the moment, we still have a stock of 1,100 family food packs from the DSWD," Pagbilao reported. (MDCT/TCB/PIA 2-Quirino)
