PARIS, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Wednesday with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.23 percent, or 12.87 points, to close at 5,571.29 points.
A total of 28 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
Veolia Environnement, the French transnational company with activities in water management, waste management and energy services advanced 3.67 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French personal care company L'Oreal rose 2.87 percent and French multinational rolling stock manufacturer Alstom SA gained 2.45 percent.
European multinational aerospace corporation Airbus lost 2.14 percent. French industrial group Bouygues S.A. edged down 1.73 percent. French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe went down by 1.68 percent.
