The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired a veteran presence, getting center Ed Davis from the New York Knicks for guard Jacob Evans III, center Omari Spellman and a 2026 second-round draft pick.

The deal, widely reported Sunday, was officially confirmed Tuesday.

Davis spent less than a week in the Knicks organization after he was traded to New York by the Utah Jazz for two 2023 second-round draft picks. The 31-year-old University of North Carolina product was selected No. 13 overall by the Toronto Raptors in the 2010 draft.

In 10 seasons and 668 career games (96 starts), Davis has averaged 6.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game for the Raptors, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets and Jazz.

Evans, 23, was a first-round pick (28th overall) by the Golden State Warriors in 2018. He has produced just 2.8 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in two seasons with the Warriors and just two games with Timberwolves.

Spellman, 23, was a first-round pick (30th overall) by the Atlanta Hawks in 2018. He has averaged 6.8 points with 4.3 rebounds in two seasons with the Hawks and Warriors. He never played for the Timberwolves after he was traded to Minnesota in February.
