Israeli Air Force drone allegedly hits Syrian base killing 2 Iranians

<p>TEL AVIV, Israel - The Israeli Air Force has attacked targets near the Syrian city of Hama, killing two Iranians, according to Syrian and foeign media outlets.</p><p>The Jerusalem Post said the reports alleged the attack&nbsp;came from Lebanese airspace.</p><p>The target of the attack on Saturday is believed to have been a Syrian military base under the control of Iranian forces.</p><p>Social media reports said an unmanned Israeli aircraft drone flew over Dahiyah in southern Beirut at low altitude on Saturday morning.</p><p>The Israeli military has neither confirmed or denied it was behind the attack.</p><p>On Monday of this week the U.S. designated Iran&#39;s elite military force, the&nbsp;Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as a terrorist group, and&nbsp;imposed&nbsp;sanctions that include freezes on assets the IRGC may have in the&nbsp;U.S. and a ban on Americans doing business with the corps.</p><p>&quot;This unprecedented step, led by the Department of State, recognizes the reality that Iran is not only a State Sponsor of Terrorism, but that the IRGC actively participates in, finances, and promotes terrorism as a tool of statecraft,&quot; U.S. President Donald Trump said in a statement.&nbsp;</p><p>Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted in response: &quot;Thank you, President <a href="">@<strong>realDonaldTrump</strong></a> for your decision to designate the Islamic revolutionary guards as a terrorist organization. Once again you are keeping the world safe from Iran aggression and terrorism.&quot;</p><p>On Friday, thousands of Iranians chanted &quot;death to America&quot; and &quot;death to Israel&quot; in Tehran as they demonstrated the U.S. decision while they burned&nbsp;Israeli and American flags.</p><p>In retaliation to Washington&#39;s decision, Iran&#39;s top security council has designated U.S. military forces a &quot;terrorist organization.&quot;</p>
